Easy 20 Minute Bacon Grilled Cheese 🧀 ✨
Here is the recipe and some tips!
1. Cook your strips of bacon on each side then set aside
2. Melt butter and apply a thin layer on each side of your bread slices. Add mayo to the “inside” side of your bread
3. Place the bread on the pan, slightly above medium heat, mayo side up and spread each cheese out in one good layer on both pieces of bread. Add bacon to one half and flip the sandwich closed. Cover the pan for 1-3 minutes.
Then plate!
Tips: I used wheat bread because that’s what was available to me but you’re welcome to use whatever bread you prefer, I’d just recommend a stiff slice, because if the bread is too soft it will be hard to manipulate on and off the pan and your sandwich won’t stay together well. A sturdy piece offers a good crisp to balance out the soft melted cheese!
I use a combination of shredded Gouda, Swiss, Gruyere, and cheddar cheese. Some variety packs of cheese offer most of these in pre-shredded form, but best quality option would be to shred your own cheese.
Hope you enjoy!
