Big things on the board coming up in the next few months!
Coming up first is the United Airlines Half Marathon this Sunday in NYC. From Prospect Park to Central Park passing through the Brooklyn Bridge and Time Square. They only close Time Square 2x a year (NYE and United Airlines HM). Have the goal in mind to get a PR this time around. @New York Road Runners @United Airlines
Also trying to get more involved in front of the camera live than just silent videos behind with music. Getting more comfortable speaking about myself to everyone no matter where I am is also fun too coming from wanting peace and quiet while filming.
As someone who’s been gearing up for the United Airlines Half Marathon in New York City, I can say there’s nothing quite like running through such iconic spots like Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, and Central Park. Having only Times Square closed twice a year—once for New Year's and once for this marathon—makes it truly special to experience the city in this way. Training in this environment keeps the motivation high, especially when aiming for a personal record (PR). One aspect I've found invaluable is incorporating more live video content into my journey. Initially, I preferred silent clips with music, but stepping in front of the camera and sharing my thoughts and feelings in real time has made the experience more engaging—not just for my audience but for myself as well. Embracing vulnerability and speaking openly has helped me connect with other runners and fitness enthusiasts, creating a supportive community. Alongside the running and content creation, the event has pushed me to stay disciplined in my weight loss journey and overall fitness regimen. Running consistently helps shed pounds, but the mental toughness developed is just as important. Being part of the New York Road Runners community and engaging with hashtags like #halfmarathon and #running has given me extra encouragement. For those preparing for a similar challenge, I'd recommend focusing on a balanced training plan that includes intervals, long runs, and rest days. Also, don't underestimate the power of visualization—imagine crossing iconic locations like the Brooklyn Bridge or Times Square to keep your motivation alive through tough workouts. Overall, combining the thrill of the race with personal growth through video sharing and community involvement makes this journey unforgettable. If you’re interested in unique marathon experiences or want to improve your running mindset, events like this are a perfect place to start.
