There’s something calming about swirling cheesecake into brownie batter and watching a simple dessert turn into something beautiful. No rush, no pressure—just butter, chocolate, cream cheese, and a little creativity.

Brownie Layer
Breakfast ideas:
* 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
* 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
* ¾ cup brown sugar
* 3 large eggs
* 1 tbsp vanilla extract
* ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* ½ tsp salt
* 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cheesecake Layer
* 8 oz cream cheese, softened
* ¼ cup granulated sugar
* 1 egg yolk
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Make the Brownie Batter
1. Whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
2. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
3. Stir in cocoa powder and salt.
4. Fold in flour just until combined.
5. Fold in chocolate chips.
6. Spread about ¾ of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
Make the Cheesecake Layer
1. Beat cream cheese until smooth.
2. Add sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla.
3. Mix until creamy.
Assemble
1. Spoon cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter.
2. Drop remaining brownie batter on top in dollops.
3. Use a knife or skewer to create swirls.
Bake
1. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is just set.
2. Cool completely.
3. Chill for 1–2 hours before slicing for clean squares.
Bakery Tip
For extra-fudgy brownies like the ones you’ve been making:
* Add ½ cup melted semi-sweet chocolate to the brownie batter.
* Refrigerate overnight before cutting.
* Use a hot knife wiped clean between slices.
