New year, new gains 🍋

My big win last year was reaching a new pr during squat (295 lbs), and that was also one of my biggest struggles.

I started my fitness journey about 4 years ago after graduating high school back in 2021. At first, I was going only a few days a month not really knowing what to do: I would jump on the cardio machines and do some weights.

Throughout my first year of college, I realized that I started to gain weight in a negative way. After noticing the extra pounds, I hated myself for it. I felt the need to do something about it, so I dove into research mode.

I reached out to a friend of mine, who’s been lifting weights for a long time, and told me that maybe it’s time for me to start my fitness journey through bodybuilding with a mix of cardio. So, I took on the challenge.

He gave me so many pointers and information about the fitness community that it was intimidating at first, but I didn’t let that stop me. After creating a routine and sticking to it for a while, I only saw a small difference in my strength. Something was missing. I was at a loss, so I decided to talk to one of the people who worked at the gym.

She asked me about my diet and the food I was eating. Turns out, if you don’t have a healthy diet, you will not see the results as fast.
