Dough dough starter day 2
Today we had some bubbles which is good.
Its ok if yours doesn’t yet
Another 1:1 ratio
Started off with throwing away half of the starter
Then added 1/2 a cup of flour
Followed by adding just under 1/2 a cup of flour and mixed it up until I got to a thick pancake like consistency
Put the lid on the starter with out screwing it
And then left it on the counter until tomorrow

As your sourdough starter develops, managing it effectively is crucial for creating that perfect loaf. On day 2 of nurturing your starter, observing signs of activity, such as bubbles, indicates that fermentation is underway. It's important to maintain a consistent feed ratio to keep the process going smoothly. A common ratio is 1:1, where equal parts water and flour are mixed. As reported in various sourdough communities, many enthusiasts recommend discarding half of the starter before feeding it again, which helps to maintain a manageable size and promotes a healthier culture. For ideal results, add approximately half a cup of flour and just under half a cup of water, mixing until achieving a thick, pancake-like consistency. Make sure to cover your starter with a lid that is not tightly sealed, allowing gases to escape while preventing contamination. Keep your starter at room temperature to encourage active fermentation. Join online forums and communities to share your experience, ask questions, and learn from fellow bakers. Following these steps not only keeps your starter healthy but also sets you on the path to baking delicious sourdough bread. Remember, patience and consistency are keys in this rewarding sourdough baking journey.
