Starting The Healing Process

5/23 Edited to

... Read moreHealing is a deeply personal and transformative journey that requires courage and honesty. From my own experience, the first step toward healing is recognizing the pain you have endured, whether it be betrayal, rejection, disrespect, abandonment, or disappointment. These wounds often leave invisible scars that shape how we see ourselves and the world. One important lesson I've learned is that healing doesn't mean pretending the hurt never happened or minimizing its impact. Instead, it means facing the truth without illusions, much like taking off rose-colored glasses. This clear-eyed acknowledgment allows you to name your pain—putting words to the feelings you've carried silently. By naming your burden, you can begin to release it. This process is not instantaneous; it requires patience and self-compassion. I found that journaling and speaking openly with trusted friends helped me move from denial to acceptance. It is through this acceptance that you take back your power, shifting from merely surviving to truly thriving. Healing also involves recognizing and letting go of lies we tell ourselves, such as blame or shame, which can keep us trapped in the past. Choosing softness after survival means being gentle with yourself and allowing space for growth and renewal. Ultimately, healing is an ongoing journey that looks different for everyone. Embracing faith—whether spiritual or faith in oneself—and connecting with supportive communities like #FaithAndHealing or #WomenWhoHeal can provide strength and encouragement along the path. Remember, your healing is your power, your future, and your freedom.
