Barre days are the most intense. My At-Home Light Pilates are the days I film workout videos (usually 10-30 min long) for youtube or my programs! And I walk 10k steps about everyday but i'll try to go on a run about 5 times a month on times i'm not nearing or on my period!🏃🏻♀️
I prioritize rest a lot so if I'm genuinely tired and sore, I never beat myself up about it! Recovery is so important!
I also want to let you guys know that I do not regret lifting lower body for as long as I did beforehand, it's just a different journey i'm on now!🫶🏼

I've found that combining different modalities like Barre, Pilates, and daily steps keeps things fresh and effective. If you're curious about diving into 'light Pilates at home,' it's truly one of the most accessible and beneficial ways to strengthen your core and improve flexibility without needing a full studio. All you really need is a comfy mat – maybe some light dumbbells, a kettlebell, or a resistance band if you're feeling fancy, just like the equipment you might spot in my setup. When looking for guidance, think about what you'd see in 'pictures' or videos: focus on controlled movements, your breath, and really engaging those deep core muscles. There are tons of amazing free resources online, especially YouTube channels that offer 10-30 minute sessions perfect for fitting into a busy schedule, or even when you're just starting out. It's fantastic for those days when you want to move but don't want to overdo it, or even as an active recovery, feeling gentle yet powerful.
When it comes to making your 'work out' truly work for you, remember that consistency beats intensity any day. I've learned to really listen to my body and adjust my schedule. Some days, a Barre session might feel super invigorating, while others, a gentle Pilates flow is exactly what I need. It’s all about finding that rhythm. And don't forget the power of walking! Reaching '10k steps a day' isn't just about hitting a number; it's about integrating mindful movement seamlessly into your life. I love taking my walks outside; it's a great way to clear my head, get some vitamin D, and enjoy the fresh air. You can easily break it up throughout the day with short walk breaks, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or even just pacing around while on a call. It really adds up and contributes to that healthy, active 'aesthetic' we all strive for, making movement a joyful part of your lifestyle.
And speaking of listening to your body, recovery is absolutely non-negotiable. I used to push through soreness, but I've realized that proper rest is where the magic happens and your muscles actually get stronger and adapt. If I'm feeling genuinely tired or sore, I'll happily swap a planned intense session for a longer gentle walk, a restorative stretching session, or even just a complete rest day. It’s also super helpful to pay attention to your body's natural rhythms, like your cycle; sometimes, lighter workouts are just what you need around certain times of the month. Don't beat yourself up for taking a break – embrace it as part of your training! Remember, your fitness journey is uniquely yours, so find what makes you feel good, stay consistent, and celebrate every step!
