It’s common to feel like you don’t want to share your meals or snacks because you’re fueling not only yourself but also your baby. This feeling is natural and underscores how important food becomes during pregnancy. In my experience, creating a positive eating environment has helped me stay happy and healthy throughout pregnancy. I allow myself to savor every bite and resist guilt around cravings. Whether it’s a juicy fruit, a savory snack, or comfort foods, listening to your body’s hunger cues can be very rewarding. It’s also critical to balance indulgence with nutrition—focus on foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein that support fetal development. Hydration and small, frequent meals often help with energy levels and morning sickness. Above all, don’t hesitate to communicate your needs to those around you. Explaining that you’re 'eating for two' and that your meals are a priority can ease social situations and make you feel supported rather than judged. Ultimately, pregnancy is about bonding with your baby in every way possible—food being one of them. Being in your 'happy place' while eating isn’t just indulgence; it’s part of the beautiful journey of welcoming new life.
