I have a new diagnosis
So I’ve had back issues since a herniated a disc when I was 16. Over the years I’ve managed, but it’s never been GREAT.
Yesterday, I had a severe back spasm that caused me to fall and put me in easily level 10 pain. More painful than my foot tattoo and that thing HURT. Matyer of fact, I’d never been in this much pain.
I went to the hospital and X-rays showed I have levoscoliosis in my TLJ region and mild disc degeneration in my lumbar.
This is hard news to deal with as I just started my fitness journey and I feel like I’m loosing all my progress and momentum. 😞
My back is in so much pain, I know it’ll be better again but it’s hard.
If anyone has similar issues, what exercises did you do that helped alleviate some of the pain? I’m considering regular chiropractor visits. Anything helps really.

Living with levoscoliosis can be challenging, especially when embarking on a fitness journey. Levoscoliosis, a type of scoliosis with a leftward curve in the thoracic spine, often leads to discomfort and mobility issues. It is crucial to consult with healthcare professionals to develop an appropriate exercise plan that aids recovery while minimizing pain. Many individuals in similar situations find relief through physical therapy, targeted exercises, and adjustments in their daily routines. Low-impact activities like swimming and yoga can strengthen core muscles and improve flexibility, providing immense benefits. Additionally, exploring chiropractic care often helps in managing pain effectively. Regular visits allow practitioners to tailor interventions based on individual needs, ultimately enhancing overall well-being. Nutrition also plays a pivotal role in recovery. Incorporating anti-inflammatory foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins can support healing and reduce pain. Furthermore, staying informed about the latest research and connecting with online communities can empower those affected, providing a sense of solidarity and shared experiences. Lastly, maintaining an open dialogue with healthcare providers and loved ones is essential in navigating the emotional difficulties that may come with such diagnoses. Remember, seeking help is a strong step toward recovery.

Wow!!! I have the same diagnosis. Not gone try to spell it, because I am just finding this out, but I have scoliosis and I have two types in my back the levo and the other one starts with a "d". One makes your spine curve to the left and the other makes it curve to the left. Along with that I have 2 herniated discs in my upper back, as well as degenerative disc disease. I understand what you are going through. Those sneak attacks from those spasm ain't no joke!!!!!!! I had an injection, but it didn't help; it gave me pain. I am not sure what to do.
