It felt like I was walking around with an invisible 'empty' sign above my head. But through a conscious effort to return to self, I discovered the powerful ritual of reclaiming my energy, and I want to share how you can too.
My personal journey began with embracing silence. In a world that constantly demands our attention, finding true quiet can feel revolutionary. For me, it started with setting aside fifteen minutes each morning for meditation, just focusing on my breath and letting thoughts come and go without judgment. I then extended this to an hour before bed, turning off all screens and picking up a good book or my journal instead. This deliberate 'digital detox' was crucial. It wasn't just about the absence of noise; it was about creating space to hear my own inner voice, something I’d neglected for too long. It's amazing what clarity and peace you can find when you cut through the external static.
Then came the concept of satin, which for me, isn't just about luxurious fabric; it's a metaphor for nurturing myself. It means treating myself with the same care and indulgence I'd offer a loved one. This could manifest in simple ways, like a warm bubble bath infused with essential oils, lighting a beautiful candle (just like the one in my picture!) to create a calming ambiance, or investing in comfortable, soft pajamas that make me feel pampered. It's about creating an environment that feels safe, beautiful, and restorative. These small, sensual moments serve as powerful reminders of my inherent worth and help me replenish my spirit.
Perhaps the most challenging, yet ultimately most impactful, step was learning to say 'no' without guilt. I used to be a chronic 'yes-person,' fearing I'd disappoint others or miss out on opportunities. However, constantly overextending myself was slowly but surely draining my spirit and leaving me resentful. I started practicing with small things, like politely declining social invitations I wasn't genuinely excited about. From there, I moved on to setting clearer boundaries at work and with friends, explaining my capacity without feeling the need to over-explain or apologize. It’s my new Rule #14: Reclaim & Reframe – I am no longer available for what drains me. This realization that my energy is a finite resource, and protecting it is a profound act of self-love, was truly liberating. Saying 'no' to something that doesn't serve me is, in fact, saying a resounding 'yes' to myself and my well-being. It’s about taking my power back, one boundary at a time.
By integrating these practices – embracing silence, indulging in self-nurturing 'satin' moments, and confidently setting boundaries – I’ve found a path to an incredible energy cleanse and a true return to self. If you’re feeling drained and want your energy back, start small. Grab that journal, light a candle, and begin to listen to what your soul truly needs. It's truly a journey of healing in style, embracing your feminine power, and entering your #SoftGirlEra with grace.
