I hate spaghetti
Spaghetti or no spaghetti? #saratomer #sahm
Okay, so I just had to get this off my chest, and I know it might be an unpopular opinion, but I truly cannot stand spaghetti. And honestly, it feels good to finally say it out loud! You see so many people loving it, posting about it, and it's practically a weekly staple for many families. But for me? It's a hard pass, every single time. Let's talk about the noodles first. Specifically, those long, thin strands, especially angel hair. To me, they just feel like... well, like little worms on my plate. I know it sounds dramatic, but the texture is a huge part of it. They're so slippery and hard to manage. When you try to twirl them, they often just flop around or slip off the fork. It feels like a constant battle just to get them from the plate into my mouth without making a mess, or worse, having them dangle awkwardly. There's a certain sliminess to them that I just can't get past, and it honestly gives me the weirdest, icky feelings. I genuinely wonder how people eat them without feeling a bit strange. It's not just spaghetti, either; any long, stringy pasta tends to trigger this aversion for me. I much prefer shorter, more substantial pasta shapes like penne, fusilli, or even shells, where each piece feels like a distinct, satisfying bite. And then there's the sound. Oh, the slurping! This is probably the biggest offender for me, honestly. When people eat spaghetti, inevitably, there's slurping involved. It's just part of the experience for many, but for me, it drives me absolutely bonkers. It's a sensory thing – that loud, sucking sound, especially in a quiet room or at a dinner table, just grates on my nerves. It's not about being impolite; it's just a sound that I find incredibly irritating. It makes me want to put my fork down and walk away. I've tried to ignore it, to tune it out, but it’s like a magnet for my attention, and once I hear it, it's all I can focus on. I know some people might think I'm crazy, but I can't be the only one who feels this way, right? It’s not that I hate pasta in general; I love a good lasagna or a hearty pasta bake. It’s specifically the spaghetti experience that I find so off-putting. If I'm ever eating spaghetti, it's usually because someone else has served it, either at my house or theirs, and I'm just being polite. I'll pick at it, try to be discreet, but my heart just isn't in it. So, if you're out there thinking, 'Phew, finally someone gets it!' – you're not alone! It's perfectly fine to have food preferences, even if they go against the grain of popular opinion. I'm curious, what's your take? Are you a die-hard spaghetti lover, or are you secretly on my side? Let me know if there are any other foods that just give you the 'ick' factor!

I love spaghetti but my husband is allergic so we do Alfredo instead lol❤️
