PTSD = Self sabotage = being alone 😔

4/6 Edited to

... Read moreLiving with PTSD often means dealing not only with the trauma itself but also with the unintended consequences it can cause in our daily lives. One of the most painful patterns that I’ve experienced—and noticed in others—is the tendency to engage in self-sabotage, which frequently isolates us further from those who care about us. Self-sabotage can take many forms, from pushing people away to neglecting self-care or ruminating on negative thoughts. In my experience, PTSD triggers a fear of vulnerability which often causes me to retreat into solitude, even when I desperately crave connection. This isolation creates a vicious cycle where loneliness amplifies my symptoms, and my PTSD symptoms, in turn, deepen the sense of being alone. An important step toward healing has been recognizing these patterns. By labeling self-sabotage and isolation as symptoms rather than personal failings, I’ve learned to approach myself with more compassion. Support groups and therapy focused on trauma have helped me understand that withdrawing isn’t a choice but a reaction that can be managed and softened. Small actions like reaching out to a trusted friend, practicing grounding techniques, or journaling feelings have been helpful tools to break the cycle. These steps remind me that although PTSD might influence my behavior, it doesn’t have to define my relationships or my future. If you or someone you know is struggling with PTSD-related self-sabotage and isolation, remember that you are not alone, and support is available. Healing is a gradual process that involves patience and self-kindness. Opening up, even in small ways, can lead to powerful reconnections and significant improvements in emotional well-being.

ADHD OR PTSD(trauma response)???
