NYC’s $29 Uni & Ikura Rice!! The best✨!

Finally tried this famous uni rice spot! Saw someone post about it in 2022 for $25, so I was curious to see how much it had gone up in two years… Turns out, it’s only $29! Way better than expected!!

My friend and I shared:

✅ Uni & Ikura Rice

✅ NY Bites

✅ Tuna Tartare

✅ Grilled Mushrooms (which we later realized were already in the NY Bites, so no need to order separately!)

💛 Uni Rice – 100% worth it! Mix it up, and every bite is filled with creamy uni & juicy fish roe. The added veggies & seaweed keep it from being too heavy.

🍖 NY Bites – Sweet bulgogi with crispy roasted potatoes and juicy mushrooms. Solid choice!

🐟 Tuna Tartare – A must-order!! The tuna salad was light & refreshing, and the crispy bread paired perfectly—not too hard, just right.

✨ Lunch special lasts until 4:30 PM!!

For $26, you get a main dish + truffle fries + salad—insane value for this location & vibe. (Heads up: they do have a 20% minimum tip policy 🥲)

... Read moreNew York City is known for its diverse culinary scene, with a multitude of restaurants offering unique and flavorful dishes. The $29 Uni & Ikura Rice at Barn Joo Union Square has garnered attention for its delicious combination of ingredients. Uni, or sea urchin, offers a rich, creamy texture that pairs perfectly with the crunchy, salty pops of ikura (fish roe). This pairing creates a delightful culinary experience that is both satisfying and luxurious. Additionally, Barn Joo is not only known for its uni rice but also for its other offerings. The NY Bites, featuring sweet bulgogi and crispy roasted potatoes, and the light, refreshing Tuna Tartare, complement the uni dish beautifully. These options make it an ideal spot for enjoying a variety of savory flavors during lunch. Lunch specials at Barn Joo further enhance the value for diners. For just $26, patrons can indulge in a main dish paired with truffle fries and a salad, making it a fantastic deal given the restaurant's vibrant setting. However, it's important to note the 20% minimum tip policy, which ensures that the exceptional service matches the quality of the food. Next time you're in NYC, don't miss the chance to savor this standout dish at Barn Joo Union Square!
