NYC! Korean Royal Tasting Menu for $125 🍽️✨

Just found a hidden gem in NYC! From the outside, you’d barely notice it, but inside—it’s an intimate, atmospheric spot serving traditional Korean royal cuisine at just $125 per person. And the best part? The desserts 🍧, all handmade by the owner, were absolutely amazing!

✨ Some of my favorite courses:

• Pickled Tomato 🍅: Inspired by the chef’s childhood memory of eating tomatoes with sugar, this dish layers marinated tomatoes, fig, and a delicate tomato jelly. Sweet, tangy, and super refreshing!

• Sool Bang: A dreamy bite of makgeolli rice cake, rich persimmon jam, and silky Hokkaido uni topped with sea salt. The balance of sweet and salty was just chef’s kiss 🤌.

• Jeju Abalone 🐚: Grilled Jeju abalone with a creamy Korean rice porridge—super tender, and the aftertaste was extra sweet and briny.

• Sotbap 🍚: Korean-style seafood hot pot rice, which we upgraded with uni + caviar (+$65). Loved how the sticky rice soaked up all the flavors! Later, they turned the crispy rice at the bottom into tea-infused porridge—so comforting.

• Daechu Cha Sorbet 🍨: Red date sorbet with bits of real fruit—light and naturally sweet!

• Pavlova 🍾: Hands-down the BEST dessert! Made with makgeolli ice cream, the subtle alcohol flavor really came through. My boyfriend said it reminded him of the Tianjin snack Da Li Gao from his childhood!

Overall, the portioning was just right! Since I don’t eat seafood often, I found some dishes a bit briny, but my boyfriend loved them—especially the lobster liver foie gras.

This hidden gem is known for its traditional Korean royal cuisine, creatively presented and expertly crafted. Start your meal with the Pickled Tomato, a nostalgic dish that evokes the chef's childhood, blending marinated tomatoes with fig and delicate jelly for a sweet and tangy taste. Next, the Sool Bang marries rich persimmon jam with silky Hokkaido uni, creating a perfect sweet and salty balance that delights the palate.
