Air fryer fries hit different.
I made my original Sweet Potato Fries recipe and was blown away by how much better they were in the air fryer versus in my oven. Crispy edges, soft centers, and that little kick of chili and cinnamon in every bite! 🍟
These are basically a summer cookout MVP. Perfect alongside burgers off the grill, piled next to a sandwich, or just on their own with a big bowl of ketchup for dipping. 🍅

I’ve been experimenting with air fryer recipes for a while now, and air fryer sweet potato fries truly stand out as one of my favorites. The magic lies in the perfect balance between crispy edges and soft, tender centers. Unlike traditional oven-baked fries, the air fryer circulates hot air efficiently, ensuring each wedge cooks evenly without becoming soggy. Using spices like chili and cinnamon not only brings a subtle warmth but also adds a flavorful depth that elevates the fries to something special. When I first tried adding a pinch of cinnamon, the hint of sweetness combined with the mild heat from the chili completely transformed my usual fry experience – it’s a small tweak that makes a big difference. I recommend peeling the sweet potatoes and cutting them into uniform wedges for even cooking. Tossing them in extra virgin olive oil with garlic salt, black pepper, paprika, and fresh parsley after cooking gives the fries a beautiful aroma and enhances their flavor profile. These fries pair perfectly with classic summer foods like grilled burgers or sandwiches, but stand alone just as well with your favorite dipping sauce—ketchup being a timeless choice. Whether you’re hosting a backyard cookout or craving a quick, satisfying snack, these air fryer sweet potato fries hit different and are definitely worth the try. Don’t forget to preheat your air fryer to 380°F for optimal crispiness and flip the fries halfway through cooking to ensure both sides achieve that golden texture. This method is a healthy alternative that cuts down on oil without sacrificing taste. Give it a go, and I guarantee you’ll be just as impressed by the results as I was!
