Does baby need a feed during the night?

We are planning to dothe Ferber sleep method. I am curious, do you use this method to also get rid of the night feeds? I’m thinking she still needs a feed during the night at her age, but after some research, I read it’s beneficial to get rid of these feeds before 6 months because it’s “easier”. Do babies stop waking up to eat?

... Read moreUnderstanding when to stop night feedings is a common concern for new parents. Many experts suggest that infants over 6 months may not require nighttime feedings, as their nutritional needs can often be met during daytime hours. Implementing methods like the Ferber sleep training can be beneficial in teaching babies to self-soothe and sleep through the night. Research indicates that establishing a consistent bedtime routine and gradually reducing night feedings can help your baby adapt to sleeping without needing to eat. Signs that your baby might be ready to eliminate night feeds include gaining weight appropriately, sleeping for longer stretches, and showing less interest in nighttime feedings. Additionally, consultation with your pediatrician can provide personalized guidance based on your baby's growth and development. Every baby is unique, and while some may adapt quickly to changes, others may take a bit longer. Patience is key! As you navigate through this process, consider joining parenting forums or communities for shared experiences and support.
