Crock pot meals are a favorite for busy families, providing a hearty option with minimal effort. For this "Smothered" chicken and rice recipe, we use a combination of brown gravy and AuJu gravy which gives the dish a rich flavor. The ranch seasoning adds a unique twist that enhances the overall taste. For best results, it's important to use thawed chicken breasts, allowing them to absorb the flavors from the gravies and spices during cooking. Make sure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed before pouring them over the chicken in your crock pot. Cooking on low for at least 5 hours ensures that the chicken is tender and infused with all the delicious flavors. Serve the smothered chicken hot over a bed of steamed rice, which acts as a perfect base to soak up the flavorful gravy. Pair this dish with southern green beans for a traditional southern meal that's sure to please everyone at the dinner table.
