Brown Butter - Chocolate chip Cookies
I have been trying out so many chocolate chip cookie recipes and this one turned out so good!
I have been on the lookout for the literal best choco chip cookie and I think I may have found it.
If you guys have any recipes to share I’d love to try them all out as well!
Recipe:
150g unsalted butter, cold from the fridge is fine
100g light or dark brown sugar
60g granulated sugar
1 large egg
½ tsp vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
150g all-purpose flour
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
3g (1 tsp) salt
220g dark chocolate, chopped, plus about 150g additional for the tops of the cookies (optional)
Melt the butter until it becomes golden and foaming.
Add butter to a bowl to cook for about 15-20 min. Once cooled, add your brown sugar and granulated sugar. Mix till combined. Whisk egg until thick and add vanilla then combine in bowl. Then add in the rest of the dry ingredients. To avoid over mixing, mix until you see a few dry spots of flower and then fold in your chocolate chips with a spatula.
Preheat oven to 350 and measure out 2tbs size balls and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 11-13 min.
Set aside and cool
