Infusion day/ vulnerable-ish post 🧡

I went to a new infusion site today. I went and toured this place back in October. I have been wanting a private infusion suite since being diagnosed with MS. I finally took matters into my hands after asking for the private room at my last site during each infusion, and never receiving it. I know I know.

Diva problems. However, I don't always feel like I'm worthy of a seat in these infusion areas. Like some people are here for more serious conditions and the people pleaser in me is saying "it's just MS". It's not

"just MS" it's freaking MS. I have told closer friends how I have felt and they even confirm to me I NEED to be there. So today I was able to relax a bit more during my infusion which I am very grateful for. 🧡

... Read moreAs someone managing multiple sclerosis, I understand the emotional and physical challenges that come with frequent infusions. Finding a private infusion suite isn't just a luxury—it's a crucial part of creating a supportive environment for treatment. Private suites, such as those offered by facilities specializing in patient-centered care, can significantly improve comfort and reduce anxiety during infusions. When I first sought a private infusion room, I faced hesitations, partly from feeling undeserving compared to others facing different serious conditions. However, my experience taught me that MS is a demanding condition, and having a peaceful, private space can help immensely in coping with treatment. From my experience, these private suites often include personalized attention and privacy that foster a calmer setting. Regarding costs, many patients worry about the expense associated with premium infusion options. It’s important to inquire about billing, copays, or out-of-pocket expenses upfront. Insurance plans and billing practices can vary widely, so contacting your provider or the infusion center can clarify what options are available and affordable for your situation. Additionally, hearing from others who've used dedicated infusion suites helped me feel confident about pursuing this option. Patient reviews on facilities and medications like Skyrizi often provide insights into cost management and patient experiences, helping guide decisions. Lastly, the environment in these infusion centers often reflects safety and care—an element reinforced visually, as even artwork or signs (like "FIRE" for safety preparedness) remind us we're in a protected space. If you’re considering a private infusion suite, remember that your comfort and well-being matter. Don't hesitate to advocate for the care setting that supports your health journey—because managing MS is not "just" MS, it’s a significant part of your life deserving of the best possible support.
