diagnosed with hashimoto’s? you’re not alone 💜

if you just got diagnosed with hashimoto’s, this is your reminder to slow down for a second

you’re not crazy

you’re not lazy

and no, it’s not “all in your head”

your body is doing a lot right now and figuring out how to support it takes time

there will be trial and error

there will be good days that confuse you

and bad days that humble you real fast

but you’re not alone in any of it

this is a space where we figure it out together

with a little humor, a little grace, and a lot less self-blame 🤍 #hashimotos #women #health #thyroid #embracevulnerability Chicago

From my own experience, one of the most important things to remember is that feeling exhausted and confused does not mean you’re lazy or making things up—your body is going through a significant autoimmune process that requires patience and self-compassion. In those early days and weeks post-diagnosis, I found myself Googling symptoms at all hours and doubting my own feelings because lab results didn’t always seem alarming enough to explain the fatigue and brain fog. What helped me was connecting with communities who understood the ups and downs—those days when you feel almost normal and wonder if it’s all in your head, only to be hit again with waves of exhaustion. Trial and error become part of daily life as you explore what supports your body best. Whether it’s adjusting your diet by trying gluten-free or dairy-free options, experimenting with supplements, prioritizing rest, or learning to say no to unrealistic expectations, it’s a personalized journey. I’ve learned that listening to your body’s signals and recognizing that some days are just going to be tough is key to progress. It’s also essential to be gentle with yourself and to separate your worth from your symptoms. Hashimoto’s is not a personality flaw or a sign of weakness—it is a medical condition that requires ongoing care and kindness toward yourself. By embracing vulnerability and sharing honestly with others who get it, you build resilience and humor that lighten the emotional load. Remember, you’re not alone in this. Support networks, either online or in local groups, can provide valuable insights and solidarity. Healing and managing Hashimoto’s is less about a perfect formula and more about consistent, compassionate efforts to support your thyroid and overall wellbeing. With time, patience, and community, the path becomes more navigable—and a lot less lonely.

This is so 100% honest and real! The good days make you think you are crazier than the bad days. Thanks for being an ally.🫶🏼

So you just got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease
CONGRATULATIONS! No seriously. You didn’t ask for fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, or mood swings. But at least now you have answers. Question though, did you give yourself time to grieve and process the diagnosis? Give yourself time. Don’t just jump into making a game plan right off the bat.

Hashimoto’s Symptoms Aren’t Always Obvious
Hashimoto’s symptoms don’t always show up clearly on labs. They don’t always look dramatic from the outside. And they don’t always fit neatly into one category. That doesn’t make them any less real. If this helped you recognize yourself in any part of it, you’re not imagining it. Save this
