My Birth Story 🤍

sit back relax because this will be a long one, this is the first time i have ever shared my birth story on the internet 🛜 so here we go, although my birth story didn’t happen the way i picture it i wouldn’t change it for anything because it brought my daughter earthside my biggest blessing 🤍 ! on march 29 the day before my birthday i visited my sister with my mom and i was relaxing on the sofa watching tiktok’s my back was killing me so i moved to another part of the sofa and put a pillow behind me , i kept fiddling with it because i was uncomfortable i then stood up and realized i had a puddle of something underneath me (as shown in my second picture) i couldn’t believe it so i stood there with my mouth open for a few mins i checked my dress and it wasn’t wet (this is my first pregnancy) so i had no idea what it would feel like when my water broke so i after coming to terms with looking at the puddle i told my mom i think it was time. she had my nephew so we stopped by the house to get my hospital bag and she dropped me off since she couldn’t come up there with a child, i wasn’t in any pain and i felt fine, another thing to note is (i didn’t have the best doctor) she had asked me at my 38 week appointment if i wanted to be induced and i told her no i wanted everything to be natural. she said okay and i went home . i had a very strict plan on how i wanted my birth to go and she seemed aggravated about that as if she knew if she had anything to do with it then my plans weren’t happening, after going into the hospital and going through the check in process they checked my water and it hadn’t broken according to the test and my nurse said she would call my doctor and let her know and she was sure she was probably gonna tell me to go home and rest however 10 mins later my nurse comes back into the room and says your doctor wants to keep you here for “monitoring” my nurse explained she doesn’t know why but doctors orders come first! and i was so flabbergasted that i couldn’t even say anything because i was like i’m really gonna have my daughter in my arms soon! i called my mom and my husband (who was at work) and told them that this is real they are going to keep me, my husband thought they would release me after not seeing any action so he wasn’t in a rush to come to the hospital 🏥, my mom came immediately and then a nurse came in and said we are going to start you on an (IV) i had again previously told my doctor i didn’t want PITOCIN! or a epidural I WANTED TO HAVE A ALL NATURAL BIRTH! til this day i believe she specifically told the nurse to say those words so i wouldn’t get triggered and tell her i didn’t want it ! she explained after i asked that it was just fluids i later read on the bag it was pitocin and of course it was to speed my labor up since i wasn’t even dialated to nothing but 2 centimeters and i green that way for atleast a week! my doctor didn’t want to wait for me to go into labor naturally. at first everything was smooth sailing but they go up on pitocin every 30 mins and the contraction start to come on even strong (my husband was here at this point) and he was there to hold my hand and try to coach me through but i was restless and pissed because i didn’t want to be induced especially behind my back essentially. but at the same time i was excited to have my daughter. eventually i caved because i was stuck at 6 cm for hours upon hours so i asked for a epidural during my last check. i got the epidural and was finally able to sleep til the morning of my birthday which my doctor came in at 8 in the morning and broke my water! i felt like i had been in labor for forever later that night the epidural wore off and i could feel everything , i yelled for a nurse and she came in and said i have to take your temperature i had a fever of 102 she ran out the room and called a whole team that rushed me to the OR and i was going to have an Emergency C Section! i was scared 😱 this wasn’t the way i had planned it at all, it took a minute for my doctor to get there and i was talking to the anesthesiologist telling him in nervous i’m gonna die , the room was spinning because remember i had a fever and once the baby was delivered i started crying because i could hear her crying which meant she was okay! my husband asked me if he should stay with me or go with the baby and i told him go with the baby and make sure she is okay, i’ve seen the way some nurses treat a newborn and i also didn’t want them to confuse my child for another! i felt so high because of the medication what i thought took only 15 mins to finish my surgery actually took a hour i know because my husband was filming him hold our daughter for the first time ! my daughter was born on my birthday at 3:10 and i was born at 3:15 isn’t that unique! this post is so long so i’ll end it here ! i am forever grateful i made it and so did my daughter because some people have lost a child or a spouse or both ! #lemon8diarychallenge #birthstory #lemon8storytime #girlmom

... Read moreGiving birth is often portrayed as a straightforward process, yet every woman's experience can be vastly different. In my case, what I envisioned was not what unfolded. After a casual visit with family, I experienced my water breaking unexpectedly, leading to a cascade of events that led me to the hospital, despite initially wanting a natural birth. My journey transformed into an emotional rollercoaster as I faced the challenges of being induced with Pitocin against my wishes and later requesting an epidural. The intensity of labor took me by surprise, and despite wanting to stick to my plan, I had to accept the reality of the situation. It’s essential to acknowledge that labor can be unpredictable, and flexibility in plans can be crucial for both a mother's and baby's well-being. The moment of my daughter’s birth was simultaneously exhilarating and nerve-wracking. The rush to the operating room for an emergency C-section highlighted the vital importance of monitoring during labor to ensure the safety of both mother and child. The emotional release I felt when hearing my baby cry for the first time was indescribable. It’s a reminder of the resilience that women possess during childbirth, showcasing the strength we don’t often recognize in ourselves. As I reflect on my birth story, I am reminded how every woman's experience is unique, filled with emotions, challenges, and ultimately the immense joy of welcoming a new life into the world. For expecting mothers, it’s essential to prepare for both planned and unforeseen scenarios in childbirth to embrace the journey fully.
