My college story 🫶(I learned so much about life)
Vulnerability
🤍 My Story: I moved out of 18 and wanted to pursue Pharmacy as my career mostly because my family had told me that was the best option for me and then I’d be great at it. If I could go back and tell myself something it would be that just because your family wants you to do something does not mean it’s the correct decision for you. I changed my major five times and now I have a bachelors in a field that allowed me to go to grad school for something I truly love and enjoy doing.
🤍 How I Felt: I felt so lost at many points in my journey, but being able to learn who I am and find my own voice has made me the strongest version of myself I’ve ever met. If 18-year-old me met 23-year-old me today she would be intimidated I think, but in the most amazed, wow you truly are a strong woman who has the highest confidence and self-worth. It took so many long nights, a 22 credit hour semester, tears, juggling multiple jobs, and so much more. I honestly don’t know if you could pay me to relive those years, but I wouldn’t change the journey because it made me who I am.
🤍 My Takeaways: My first key takeaway would be that you have to learn how to stand up for yourself and what to advocate and who you need to talk with to get something done. Unfortunately, many times I ran into situations where people would do the bare minimum of their job and it wouldn’t be the best decision for me and my life. My second key takeaway would be to learn how to ask for help. I learned that asking for help doesn’t show weakness. It actually shows strength. My last key Takeaway would be that you need to figure out what your goals are and why you want to pursue them and who you’re doing it for. Once you have your goals and they’re actually your goals not your friends, families boyfriends goals you’ll learn how to be authentic to yourself. Writing down your goals and why you want to achieve them and how you’re going to make daily steps to achieve your goal. I think you need a daily habit that allows you to write down all of your goals. Your main wins for the day and having a this is exactly what I need to achieve number one goal.
