My fitness habits as a grad student

1. Walking daily: isn’t only great for your body but also your mind bonus if it’s outside. I also invested in a walking best purchase!!

2. Protein: I aim for 100-120g per day

3. Lifting: I am super busy and don’t always have time for a dedicated leg, arm, or specific muscle group. I just try to do compound exercises that work as many muscles at a time.

4. Routine: I put fitness above my chores and fun plans. This is an invaluable investment in yourself.

5. Food: Finding Whole Foods and some snacks (because I love to snack) that are healthy and high in protein that I actually enjoy changed the game. I look at my diet as a lifestyle not a diet.

6. Treats: I allow myself to have a small treat but I do say no to certain things and pretty often.

Walking daily not only boosts physical health but also enhances mental clarity, especially when done outdoors. Investing in quality walking gear can make this habit enjoyable and sustainable. Protein intake is crucial for muscle repair and energy. Aiming for 100-120 grams daily supports active lifestyles and brain function, essential during intense study periods. Incorporating whole foods and healthy protein snacks helps maintain energy levels without compromising on taste. When time is limited, focusing on compound exercises that engage multiple muscle groups maximizes workout efficiency. These exercises, such as squats, deadlifts, and push-ups, promote strength and stamina without requiring hours at the gym. Establishing a consistent routine by prioritizing fitness over chores or entertainment reinforces commitment and self-care, key components to long-term success. A healthy lifestyle approach to food, rather than restrictive dieting, encourages sustainable choices that accommodate even the busiest grad students. Allowing occasional small treats supports balance and prevents burnout, while saying no to less beneficial options helps maintain progress. Setting clear self-care goals, like those seen in "Self CareGoals Let's glow up in 30 days," can motivate steady improvement and contribute to overall well-being during the demanding grad school journey.
