How to do RDL without lower back pain ✨
For my girlies that hurt their back every time they do rdls. Here are some tips for the glute day.

Having struggled with lower back discomfort during Romanian Deadlifts myself, I found that mastering the hip hinge movement is key to pain-free RDLs. Many people unknowingly hinge from their spine rather than their hips, putting undue stress on the lower back muscles. I remind myself to 'close the door' with my hips — imagining pushing my hips backward instead of bending forward from the waist. A helpful cue that improved my technique was to focus on lowering the weight until I felt a light stretch in my hamstrings, just above the heels. This stretch indicates I'm engaging the right muscles rather than straining my back. Also, keeping the core tight and squeezing the glutes at the top of the movement provides extra stability and support. One tip I embraced after watching tutorials and practicing was to reduce the weight while perfecting my form. Trying to lift too heavy before mastering the hip hinge often led to pain. Starting with lighter dumbbells or even just bodyweight allowed me to build confidence and strength gradually. Finally, incorporating pre-workout warm-ups targeting the hamstrings and glutes helped prepare my body and reduced tightness that might contribute to back pain during RDLs. Over time, with consistent practice and attention to these form cues, my lower back pain disappeared, and I felt the glutes working effectively every session. For anyone facing similar issues, I recommend focusing on these form adjustments, starting light, and listening to your body's signals to avoid injury and enhance your glute gains.
