Are YOU The Problem??
I don’t mean you’re “misunderstood” or “too much.”
I mean ACTUALLY DIFFICULT.
Because some people make relationships feel like a full-time job with no benefits.
Wanting effort doesn’t make you difficult.
And you’re not difficult because you have boundaries.
You’re also not difficult because you expect emotional maturity.
But you MIGHT be difficult if…
🔥 You turn every small issue into a 3rd-degree argument.
🔥 You nitpick how they said it, when they said it, and what they didn’t say.
🔥 You say you want honesty, then punish them when you get it.
🔥 You keep score like it’s a competitive sport.
🔥 You rarely admit you were wrong.
🔥 You make them feel like they’re one mistake away from losing you.
That’s not “high standards.”
That’s toxic chaos.
Love can handle depth.
But it cannot survive constant criticism.
If someone feels drained instead of safe around you, YOU are the problem.
The real power move isn’t being intimidating.
It’s being self-aware.
Keep your standards.
But drop the ego.
