Classes for this year

7/28 Edited to

... Read moreStarting middle school can be both exciting and challenging, especially when adjusting to a full schedule like the Grade 6 classes in Alabama. From my own experience, having clear information about your teachers and classrooms makes the transition smoother. In these classes, you’ll find core subjects such as Mathematics taught by Mr. Campbell in room 206 and Science with Ms. Bankston in room 220. Understanding who your teachers are and where to find them helps reduce anxiety on the first day. One unique aspect of the curriculum is the inclusion of CAD 6, which is a practical subject not always offered at this stage, led by Mr. Callahan in room 127. This class offers hands-on learning that builds valuable technical skills alongside traditional academics. Physical education, conducted by Mr. Brewster in the gym, also plays an important role in maintaining balance and wellness. It offers a refreshing break from classroom learning and encourages teamwork and physical fitness. Additionally, the English Language Arts class with Ms. Kerr in room 215 focuses on improving language skills crucial for success across all subjects. If you ever feel overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to reach out during Anchor Time with Ms. Allen in room 208, a dedicated session to help students catch up or get extra support. For anyone new to this school or those looking to optimize their school year, I recommend organizing your schedule ahead of time, preparing your school supplies according to the classes, and actively communicating with your teachers from day one. Knowing the room locations and teacher emails also helps if you need to ask questions or request assistance remotely. Overall, these Grade 6 classes each bring unique opportunities to learn and grow. Embracing the variety—from math and science to PE and CAD—can make your school experience diverse and enriching.
