For sahur, I enjoy a traditional combination of amala, gbegiri, and ewedu alongside a hearty chicken stew. This meal offers a fantastic balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fiber to keep you full throughout the day. Drinking water or milk with sahur is also essential for hydration and sustaining energy. To refresh after fasting, I often prepare cucumber-grape infused water which not only tastes great but helps replenish lost fluids. For iftar, a stir-fry pasta with eggs provides a quick, protein-rich meal that’s gentle on the stomach after a day of fasting. Snacks such as banana bread paired with apple juice serve as perfect treats between meals, offering natural sugars and nutrients to boost energy. These simple yet wholesome recipes have become my go-to for Ramadan, allowing me to focus on spiritual reflection without worrying about complicated meal prep. Incorporating seasonal and easy-to-source ingredients ensures that these meals are both budget-friendly and nourishing throughout the holy month.
