Creamy cheesy pasta bake with garlic and mozzarella
My mother-in-law handed me this recipe on a crumpled piece of paper years ago, and I swear it's the most comforting thing I've ever baked. Four ingredients. That's it. And somehow it tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen.
The first time I made it, my husband walked in from work, stopped in his tracks, and just said, "What is that smell?" The whole house smelled like butter and garlic and toasted cheese. He ate two servings before I even sat down.
This is one of those recipes that feels like a warm hug on a cold night. The pasta bakes up creamy and cheesy with this golden, crispy top that's almost too good. You get that perfect cheese pull with every forkful, and the buttery garlic flavor just melts into everything.
I make this on repeat now. Weeknights when I'm too tired to think. Sundays when I want something cozy. Anytime someone needs comfort food that actually delivers.
**INGREDIENTS:**
• 1 lb spaghetti or angel hair pasta
• 8 tablespoons butter, melted
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or Italian blend)
• ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 teaspoons garlic powder
• Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
**INSTRUCTIONS:**
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
2. Cook the pasta until just al dente, then drain well.
3. Toss the hot pasta with melted butter and garlic powder until every strand is coated.
4. Layer half the pasta into the baking dish, then sprinkle with half the mozzarella and half the Parmesan.
5. Add the remaining pasta on top, then cover with the rest of the cheese.
6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling at the edges.
7. Turn the oven to broil for 2–3 minutes to get that golden, crispy top.
8. Let it cool for just a few minutes, then sprinkle with parsley if you're feeling fancy.
Serve it straight from the pan while it's still gooey and pulling apart in long, cheesy strands. Trust me, this one doesn't last long.
