Losing 88 pounds. ⬇️ SECRETS✨
I know you don’t want to hear this but diets will leave you frustrated and back at square 1.
I’ve been overweight. Exhausted. Sad. Mad. Frustrated!!!
Those days are gone & we’re not going back.
The “secrets” that helped me lose the 88 pounds and get into the best shape of my life was to stick to the basics & unlearn basically everything I thought was right.
I learned how many macros or calories my body needed. Underrating is not the way! It won’t be sustainable!
I learned what makes our bodies puff up with inflammation and hold onto fat 🤮
I started to walk. Yep. At my heaviest I wasn’t going to step into a gym. I wasn’t there mentally so I started to walk. Walk walk walk walk. Stop underestimating walking.
I stopped drinking my calories. 500 calorie coffee? No thanks. I rather eat a 500 Calorie BURGER with 30g++ of protein that’ll keep me full and happy.
I found substitutes for everything I loved. Restaurant meals? I hacked them and made it my own. I even found a swap for chikfila 🙃
We’re so happy with the meals at home that we’ve saved SOOOOO much money and we rarely ever go out to eat because it’s just so much better at home.
I’m not saying we never do. We still do, maybe 1 time a week if that. But even then I have found ways to order food that doesn’t ruin all the work I’ve done.
Again this is a life style so I wasn’t looking for a quick fix since I’ve seen what those do to me.
If you want a break down of my entire journey I’ve got the wellness ebook linked in my bio!

It's so true what they say – traditional diets often leave us feeling frustrated and right back where we started. I totally get it! When I was on my journey to losing 88 pounds and getting into the best shape of my life, I realized it wasn't about deprivation, but understanding my body better. One of the biggest 'secrets' for me was truly learning about macros and calories. It's not about starving yourself; it's about giving your body the right fuel in the right amounts. I started by using an online calculator to get a rough idea of my daily calorie needs for weight loss, then adjusted based on how I felt and observed my progress. Tracking with an app for a few weeks was super eye-opening. You'd be surprised how quickly you learn to eyeball portion sizes and make smarter choices without constant logging. The goal isn't perfect tracking forever, but building awareness! And walking? Seriously, don't underestimate it! When I started, even a short walk felt like a marathon. But I committed to it every single day. It's low-impact, great for stress relief, and helps burn calories without feeling like a grueling workout. I'd put on a podcast or call a friend, and before I knew it, I'd hit my step goal. It's amazing how much difference consistent movement makes for both your body and your mental well-being. Cutting out liquid calories was another game-changer. Those fancy coffee drinks or sodas add up so fast! I swapped my sugary lattes for black coffee with a splash of unsweetened almond milk, and sodas for sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon or lime. It felt like a small change, but it saved hundreds of calories daily and helped me feel less bloated. Finding healthy substitutes for my favorite foods and learning to cook at home transformed my relationship with food. Instead of feeling deprived, I got creative! I found ways to make 'fakeaways' – like homemade chicken burgers or healthier versions of my favorite restaurant meals – that tasted amazing and were packed with nutrients. Meal prepping on Sundays became my secret weapon. Having healthy options ready to go meant I wasn't reaching for unhealthy snacks or takeout when I was tired or busy. For anyone wondering about 'before and after' results, it’s not just about the scale. While losing 88 pounds was a huge milestone, I also kept track of how my clothes fit, took progress photos (even if just for myself!), and noticed my energy levels soaring. These non-scale victories are incredibly motivating and show the true transformation happening from the inside out. Remember, consistency over perfection is key for getting into the best shape of your life! It's a journey, not a race.
