Homemade bone broth ✨
Homemade bone broth is a staple in my diet and it is so easy to make. You can sip it, use it for soup, or use it to steam food. It’s rich in collagen, amino acids, and minerals, making it a great addition to your diet. Bone broth has been known to help heal the gut lining and support healthy hair. Here is a quick and easy recipe using a slow cooker.
1. Roast 3-5 lbs of grass fed beef or pasture raised chicken bones at 400°F for 15 minutes.
2. Add roasted bones to a slow cooker with 10-12 cups of water, veggies, herbs, and salt. I personally love to add carrot tops, celery, fennel, onions, and garlic!
3. Slow cook on low for 18-22 hours (the longer, the better!).
4. Strain, bottle, and enjoy the nourishing goodness!

Bone broth is increasingly recognized for its health benefits, particularly for gut health. Packed with collagen, it supports joint health, improves skin elasticity, and aids in digestion. Recent studies highlight the gut-healing properties of the amino acids in bone broth, such as proline and glycine, which may help repair the gut lining and improve digestive health. Additionally, bone broth is a valuable source of minerals like magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium, crucial for overall wellbeing. As you prepare your broth, experiment with adding different herbs and vegetables for enhanced flavor and additional nutrients. Ingredients like ginger, turmeric, or lemon can not only enhance taste but also provide anti-inflammatory benefits. The slow cooking process allows the maximum extraction of nutrients, ensuring a rich and flavorful broth. Remember to store excess broth in the freezer to enjoy later, making it a convenient option for quick meals. Unlock the full potential of homemade bone broth in your daily diet for enhanced health and nourishment.

Can I boil everything in my pot if I don’t have a slow cooker ?
