Running Journey
I got into running approximately 2 ish years ago.
There have been days where I hated running and it almost made me feel miserable, because I kept focusing on the numbers and how well/bad I was performing and constantly comparing my running times and body to other people.
It took me forever to realize that it was such a privilege to run. This is just one of many things I do and I am so blessed to have legs that carry me past 20 miles. A body that can eat, a body that can move, a body that can feel pain, a body that can endure, a body that can practice balancing her mind when moving her body. It is such a privilege. A blessing. I always hate making cheesy statements over the beauty of running or exercise. The truth is it is easy to get in your head over comparison and over feeling disappointed when you can't meet your goals.
but I love running my monthly races. it motivates me to keep my body active. I love seeing all these other runners who got up on rainy days, sad days, bad days, good days, and still decided to do this form of self care, though sometimes it isn't easy, it feels rewarding afterwards.
