Curry, canned fish, vegetables included
This is a menu that proves that canned fish make Thai curry very delicious! The special thing is that we will use a portion of the fish meat to mingle with chili curry, making the curry very rich and professional without wasting time boiling the fish for a long time.
It takes 15-20 minutes to make. It's perfect for eating with canned fish omelette that we just made.
What to prepare (for 1-2 persons)
Main raw material
1.canned fish: 1 can (separate the meat and sauce water)
2. Curry juice: 2 tablespoons (commonly available)
3. Vegetables included: as you like, such as white lettuce, lentils, carrots or cauliflower (can be frozen for convenience)
4.Clean water: 2-3 measuring cups
Condiment (The Heart of the Curry Flavor)
1.Wet Tamarind Water: 3-4 tablespoons (Provide Sour Taste, Lead)
2. Fish sauce: 2 tablespoons
3. Beep sugar or granulated sugar: 1 tablespoon (for a sweet, tender taste)
Step-by-Step
1. Concentrate The Secret Step
- Bring 1 piece of canned fish meat and combine it with curry juice until it is one meat (this step is fun and very important because it will thicken curry like a restaurant)
- Put the pot in clean water, wait until the water boils.
2. Melt the curry and add vegetables.
- Put the curry sauce pounded with fish meat into the boiling water. Dissolve until the curry water becomes pretty orange.
- Put the hard-to-ripen combined vegetables first (e.g. carrots), followed by the easy-to-ripen vegetables (e.g. white lettuce).
- Put the rest of the canned fish sauce water with it (add color and rich taste)
3. Seasoning and adding fish meat
- Seasoned with wet tamarind juice, fish sauce and sugar. Taste for 3 flavors, sour, salty, and sweet.
- Once the vegetables are cooked, add the rest of the canned fish meat gently (no need to be strong, the fish will break)
- Wait for it to boil again and turn off the light immediately.
Tips for newbies
Sour: The sour of each house wet tamarind is not equal. It is recommended to wear and taste.
Curry colors: Canned fish sauce water put into it will make orange curry juice look pretty red, even more palatable.
If there is a "paste" next to the house, the paste can be added to the tip of the teaspoon of chili paste, which will add fragrance and depth to the curry.
