My Body Knew Something Was Wrong It Was the Air

I didn’t realize how much my environment was affecting my health until my body forced me to.

I was waking up congested every morning, coughing at random, and feeling like I couldn’t take a full breath indoors. I blamed everything: allergies, the weather, maybe even stress.

But the truth?

There was mold in my space and my lungs knew before I did.

Once I found it behind furniture + in the bathroom vent, I started cleaning differently. I switched to a HEPA filter, used vinegar based cleaners, and aired out my space more often.

Within a few days, the difference was shocking. My breathing was easier. My energy came back.

It made me realize: clean air is a form of self-care.

If you’re constantly tired, congested, or wheezing and can’t figure out why check your space too. Mold doesn’t always show up as big black spots. Sometimes, it hides where you’d never think to look.

... Read moreMold exposure can lead to various respiratory issues and overall discomfort, as many have experienced chronic congestion, coughing, and unexplained fatigue like described in this article. Common symptoms range from sinus problems to allergies and even asthma attacks. One effective way to combat mold is to frequently inspect and clean less obvious areas. Utilizing a HEPA filter not only captures mold spores but also other allergens, making it an essential tool for maintaining clean air. You should also consider natural cleaning agents like vinegar, which are effective and do not add harmful chemicals to your environment. Ensuring adequate ventilation is crucial; leaving windows open or using exhaust fans during cooking and bathing can greatly reduce moisture buildup, which fosters mold growth. It’s also beneficial to keep humidity levels low, ideally between 30-50%. A hygrometer can help monitor these levels. In addition, regularly washing bedding and upholstery can help eliminate mold spores and dust mites that contribute to respiratory problems. If you suspect mold in your home but can't see it, inspect HVAC systems, vents, and behind appliances. Immediately address any water leaks or damage, as these can create mold-friendly environments. Remember, maintaining a healthy space not only improves physical health but also enhances mental clarity and emotional well-being.
