Fiber tends to help drive a PFAS called Forever Chemical.
PFAs, also known as "forever chemicals," are substances that are difficult to degrade both in our bodies and even in nature, common in homes such as contaminated drinking water, food, non-stick coated pans, PFAs coated carpets, and stain-proof furniture.
PFAs are linked to a number of health problems, e.g.
• High cholesterol
• Liver poisoning
• Reduced immune response to vaccines
• Hypertension disorders during pregnancy
Research by Jennifer Schlezinger of Boston University found clues that dietary fiber that can be gelled can bind and remove PFAs from the body. Beta-glucan dietary fiber supplementation tests have been conducted on oats, and research is ongoing to determine which dietary fiber is most effective for removing PFAs.
If the research is successful, we may see people's health improve dramatically by eating certain dietary fibers amid increasing levels of new chronic diseases.
