is college really worth it? 🪬 🍋

#admissions #collegelife #collegeacceptance #shouldigo Recently got into a college (i won’t share the name.) I went for a year and half before but dropped out to pursue other things. I found myself wanting to go back and i applied to another school so obviously it has interest. But i’ve found success in other things and wonder if im just trying to play it to safe. is college worth it to you? should i just pursue my own things? should i do both like i thought when applying? idk i want to go to learn and for a side job or backup plan but i have a small business online i want to pursue as well..

... Read moreIn today's rapidly changing job market, the question of whether college is worth it is more prevalent than ever. For many, college offers a pathway to acquire valuable skills and connections, often leading to better job prospects and higher earnings. However, with the rise of online businesses and self-employment opportunities, many are questioning if a traditional degree is the best route. A growing number of successful entrepreneurs are self-taught or have pursued alternate learning methods, such as online courses or apprenticeships. This shift illustrates the importance of aligning education paths with personal career goals. Additionally, consider the financial investments involved in college compared to the potential returns of starting your own business. Moreover, the experience of attending college can provide valuable life skills, networking opportunities, and exposure to a variety of fields, which can be beneficial regardless of whether you ultimately choose to work in a traditional job or pursue entrepreneurship. If you find yourself torn between education and building a business, it may be worth exploring hybrid options. Many colleges now offer programs that allow students to work while studying or even build their businesses on campus, ensuring a well-rounded experience. Ultimately, the decision should reflect your aspirations, financial situation, and preferred learning style. Engaging in discussions with current students and professionals in your desired field can also help clarify the best path forward for your unique circumstances.

I think it definitely depends on what career you’re pursuing based on how much school costs, especially without scholarships/grants! Personally, I’ve always loved space, and my educational background landed me a 6-figure job in a year out from graduation. But a lot of people can make the same or more as a technician!

Imo it depends on what u are studying or what career u want. If it’s something that u can go to a trade school for or doesn’t even really need a degree, don’t go. But if u do need that degree, like teaching, most medical careers, law, etc… then yes it’s worth it.
