Okay But… What IS Virtual Body Doubling? 😂

okay but what actually HAPPENS during virtual body doubling? 😂

honestly? it’s remarkably un-dramatic.

you show up with The Thing™.

maybe you’re answering emails. cleaning. studying. doing paperwork. organizing something. handling life admin.

we decide whether you want quiet or guided support, and then you… do your thing.

I’m just there with you virtually providing company, structure + accountability while you work.

no judgment if you’ve been avoiding it for six weeks.

no productivity Olympics.

just another human going “yep, I’m still here. keep going.” 🥰

that’s what my virtual body doubling service through Borrow My Executive Functioning is for.

you bring the task. I’ll bring the borrowed executive functioning. 🧠💛

... Read moreFrom my personal experience with virtual body doubling, it’s a game-changer when it comes to staying focused and motivated during tasks I usually find overwhelming. The beauty of this method is its simplicity: you bring your task, whether it’s studying, cleaning, or sorting through emails, and another person quietly supports you in real time. This isn’t about being pushed or judged—it’s about companionship and presence. Having someone virtually 'there' helps diminish the feeling of isolation that often accompanies challenging tasks. For me, scheduling a regular virtual body doubling session has been like creating a gentle, external structure that keeps me accountable without stress. One of the key advantages I noticed is the option to choose either quiet support or guided interaction. Some days, I just need someone silently sharing the workspace, and other times, a little encouragement or check-in helps me keep moving forward. This approach also works well for those with ADHD or executive functioning challenges because it provides a borrowed layer of executive functioning skills like organization and task prioritization. The experience feels collaborative, not competitive, and celebrates small wins along the way, which really fuels motivation. If you’re struggling with procrastination or find it hard to start tasks, I highly recommend trying virtual body doubling. It’s not therapy or coaching—it’s simply human connection and accountability designed to help you tackle your to-do list one step at a time.
