Irish Brown Bread - 180 calories per slice

2 cups all purpose flour

2 cups whole wheat flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 cup raw honey

1 1/2 cups buttermilk or milk with a splash of lemon juice

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit.

2. Mix together dry ingredients.

3. Add honey, then buttermilk to mixture.

4. Combine mixture until it becomes a rough dough.

5. Transfer to a floured surface and knead until dough forms into a ball, about 3-5 minutes.

6. Place dough ball on parchment lined baking sheet and then score dough crossways.

7. Bake at 400 degrees Farenheit for 10 minutes. Then, turn down oven temperature to 375 degrees Farenheit and bake for another 40-45 minutes.

8. Once done, check that bread has a nice crust and sounds hollow.

9. Let cool on a rack, then slice up into 12-18 slices and enjoy!
