Neurodivergent folks!

... Read moreHyperfocus is a well-known phenomenon often experienced by neurodivergent individuals, especially those with ADHD and autism. It refers to an intense concentration on specific tasks or interests, sometimes to the exclusion of everything else around them. Many in the neurodivergent community find hyperfocus to be both a strength and a challenge. For example, it can lead to high productivity and skill development when focused on positive or productive activities. However, hyperfocus can also make it difficult to switch attention or manage time effectively, sometimes causing people to overlook other important responsibilities. Understanding one's patterns of hyperfocus can help individuals harness its benefits while mitigating drawbacks. It's important to recognize that hyperfocus experiences vary widely among neurodivergent folks. Some may find themselves absorbed in creative projects, gaming, reading, or organizing, while others might hyperfocus on hobbies or topics of deep personal interest. Supporting neurodivergent individuals includes acknowledging their unique focus styles and providing environments where their hyperfocus can be channeled productively. Communities and discussions, like the one encouraged here, offer a valuable space to share stories, strategies, and support related to hyperfocus. If you identify as neurodivergent, what are you currently hyperfocused on? Sharing your experience can not only help others understand the diversity of focus styles within the community but also promote more inclusive conversations around neurodiversity and mental health.

An important message for my neurodivergent crew
I am so tired of the negative messages from neurotypical society, many of them say things like: "You are only worth what you put into the world." "You should just try harder." "It's easy, just do this." If you are neurodivergent (not just adhd/autism- any type!),
