I baking BANANAA BREAD and making pasta ASAP #tajmahal #wolfappliances #wolfstove #tajmahalquartzite #houseupdates
It feels surreal to finally see our kitchen coming together! When we first decided it was time for a major 'house update,' the counters were at the top of our list. After years of dreaming, we took the plunge, and I'm so excited to share that our 'Counters Are Replaced' – officially! This article is just 'Part 1' of our renovation journey, focusing on this major milestone. Choosing the right material for our new countertops was a 'Month Long Process' in itself, believe it or not. We spent countless hours researching, visiting showrooms, and looking at samples. We ultimately fell in love with Taj Mahal Quartzite, and I wanted to share a bit about why. Its natural beauty, with those gorgeous creamy tones and subtle veining, just spoke to me. Beyond aesthetics, its durability was a huge selling point. As a busy mom, I needed something that could stand up to daily life – spills, hot pans, and all the chaos that comes with baking banana bread and making pasta from scratch. Quartzite is known for being harder than granite and less porous than marble, making it an excellent choice for a high-traffic kitchen. It resists scratches, etching, and heat, which gives me such peace of mind. The actual installation process, while exciting, definitely tested our patience. The 'Month Long Process' mentioned in our update isn't an exaggeration! From template creation to fabrication and then the final install, there were so many moving parts. We had to prepare our kitchen by clearing everything out, which meant a temporary setup for cooking (microwave meals became our best friends!). The old counters were removed, which was surprisingly dusty and noisy, but the crew was fantastic about containing the mess. Seeing the new slabs arrive and watching them being carefully fitted into place was truly incredible. There’s a real artistry to it. My tip for anyone going through this: be patient, communicate constantly with your installers, and have a good temporary kitchen plan! Now that the Taj Mahal Quartzite counters are in, I'm buzzing with anticipation for the next phase. Our new Wolf stove and other Wolf appliances are ready to be hooked up! We chose Wolf not just for their sleek, professional look but for their reputation for precision cooking and durability. I can't wait to put that stove to the test, especially for my signature banana bread! Having professional-grade appliances will elevate our cooking experience so much. If you're considering a kitchen renovation, my biggest piece of advice is to do your homework. Research materials, read reviews for contractors, and think about how you truly use your kitchen. It's a big investment, but seeing the vision come to life, knowing we picked exactly what we wanted for both beauty and function, makes every step of the 'Month Long Process' worth it. Stay tuned for 'Part 2' where I'll hopefully be showing off our fully functional, baking-ready dream kitchen!
