although I officially graduated from usc in December, there’s one graduation ceremony per year so I have to wait till May to official walk :) #usc #universityofsoutherncalifornia #graduated #phd #usctrojans
Graduating from the University of Southern California (USC) is a milestone that many students eagerly anticipate, especially when it comes to the graduation ceremony that symbolizes years of hard work and dedication. Although I officially completed my degree last December, like many USC graduates, I have to wait until the annual ceremony in May to officially walk and celebrate this achievement with my peers. Being part of the Keck School and connected to research groups like the Klausner Research Group and REACH Hawai'i Medicine Club has made my journey unique and fulfilling. These groups provide invaluable support and networking opportunities that enrich the academic experience. They also foster a sense of community among students pursuing advanced degrees, especially in challenging programs like the PhD. The waiting period between graduation and the ceremony can be a time of reflection and celebration in its own right. Many graduates use this time to thank their families and mentors for their unwavering support, just like I did with my mom. It’s important to acknowledge the people who help us through this transformative phase. For those preparing to graduate from USC or any university with a single annual ceremony, I recommend engaging actively with student organizations, research groups, and your academic community. It helps deepen your experience and creates lasting memories beyond the ceremony itself. Keep track of announcements and preparations from your school, as this helps you feel involved and ready when the big day arrives. Walking in the graduation ceremony is more than a tradition; it’s a celebration of perseverance and academic passion. I’m excited to join the ranks of #USCTrojans officially on that day and encourage all future graduates to make the most of both their academic journey and the anticipation of this special moment.
