What’s the 80/20 rule?

The 80/20 rule is essentially about balance and sustainability. This means being consistent with your weight loss and fitness goals 80% of the time, while reserving the remaining 20% for flexible eating and rest days

I apply the 80/20 rule to my workout goals by working out 5x a week, leaving 2 days out of the week as my rest days

during my “rest” days, I like to spend time with my friends, go out to dinner or have a drink!

I apply the 80/20 rule to my meals by making home cooked meals at least 5 out of the 7 days in a week. I make sure to eat well, balanced meals with lots of color

I am a foodie at heart, so on days when I’m not cooking during the week. I like to enjoy a nice dinner out with my partner

Pros of the 80/20 rule: to me, the 80/20 rule is a great guide to meeting your weight loss goals long term. It avoids burnout and allows some flexibility. It’s a sustainable approach for long term results.
