July reading stats 📚📊

This is my worst, slowest reading month of the year so far 🫣🥲 Y’all I went from being in an office to being a dental assistant, so life is just busier these days 😕 BUT, I’m still reading. Much slower though and I’m finding myself taking breaks from books more than I ever have. Anyways superlatives:

Most surprising book of the month: The Skin You’re In - Ashley Robin Franklin📚 this book is a collection of horror comics, which I’ve never read before. It was so good and I liked it way more than I thought I would.

Best book: Ask for Andrea !!! I went into it blind and loved it !

Book(s) I’d recommend: the Vicious Lost Boys series ! It’s super short and very fun 😋

... Read moreJuly 2025 reading habits provide a unique glimpse into balancing busy lifestyles with maintaining a passion for books. The author’s shift from office work to dental assisting slowed down reading pace but deepened the engagement with each book, reflecting a common experience for many readers. Among the highlights, "The Skin You’re In" by Ashley Robin Franklin stands out as a surprisingly engaging collection of horror comics, a genre less explored by the author. Horror comics have been gaining popularity for their blend of visual storytelling and suspense, appealing to readers looking for fresh, immersive experiences. This collection's acclaim highlights how graphic novels and comics continue to expand literary horizons. "Ask for Andrea," described as the best book of the month, is noted for its unexpected impact despite the author reading it blind. This emphasizes the joy of serendipitous reading where unfamiliar books open new perspectives. Meanwhile, the "Vicious Lost Boys" series, with its short format and fun narrative, caters to readers seeking quick yet captivating reads. Short series are increasingly favored for busy readers due to their ability to deliver satisfying stories without long-term commitments. Data extracted from accompanying visuals indicates that the books read are primarily within romance and fantasy fiction genres, complemented by formats including audio, print, and digital. This multi-format approach aligns with current reading trends, where audio books offer flexibility and accessibility, allowing readers to absorb literature even during busy schedules. Additionally, tracking pages read, hours spent, and average ratings reflect a thoughtful engagement with each book, enhancing the reading experience’s quality over quantity approach. Notably, the average book length of about 359 pages with an average completion time of 7 days aligns with balanced reading goals for casual and dedicated readers alike. For readers interested in diversifying their book lists, exploring horror comics like "The Skin You’re In" might be a welcome detour from typical genres. Likewise, diving into award-worthy stand-alone novels such as "Ask for Andrea" or indulging in short, intense series like "Vicious Lost Boys" offers variety that keeps reading fresh and exciting. To sum up, July’s reading stats underscore the evolving nature of personal reading practices, influenced by lifestyle changes yet sustained through adaptive reading choices and types, including graphic novels, audio books, and short series. This amalgamation ensures reading remains an enriching and enjoyable pastime despite external pressures.
