Learning Based on My Brain Type!

I thought I was a visual learner for so long because I feel like everyone else says they are… Little did I realize that I’m actually an ‘auditory learner’. Which means that I learn best from what I HEAR.

This makes so much sense because when I am interested in a topic outside of school I will usually listen to a podcast about it!

So obviously that is how I like to learn! I tried switching my study tools from visual to audio and I noticed a huge difference!

To do this, I just used ChatGPT in talking mode and asked ChatGPT to explain the topics to me. Bonus: I asked it to explain it to me like gossip, and let me tell you, I was INVESTED🫢

What type of learner are you? Let me know if you try out the ChatGPT gossip prompt hehe! FOLLOW for more study tips!

... Read moreUnderstanding your brain type is a game-changer when it comes to effective learning. Many people assume they are visual learners simply because that’s the most common learning style discussed, but in reality, you might benefit more from auditory methods. For those who are auditory learners, information is best absorbed by listening rather than reading or seeing. Auditory learners often find themselves naturally gravitating towards podcasts, audio books, or lectures where they can hear the material being discussed. This type of learning is supported by brain functions that process sounds and verbal cues more effectively. The image titled "How to Learn based on your brain type" highlights visual aspects too, but it’s important to recognize your strongest channel. To optimize your study sessions, try incorporating audio-based tools. One innovative approach is using AI platforms like ChatGPT in talking mode. By asking it to explain complex topics in an engaging, conversational tone—such as framing explanations like gossip—you can increase your interest and retention. This not only makes studying less of a chore but also leverages the auditory channel to deepen understanding. For example, if you’re tackling a tough subject like organic chemistry, hearing the material narrated in a relatable, storytelling style can transform your perception of the topic. This approach turns dry facts into memorable stories, helping you stay invested and recall information better during exams. Moreover, experimenting with different prompts in AI-powered tools helps to personalize your learning experience. Try asking ChatGPT to explain something “like juicy gossip” or in a specific accent or style you enjoy. Your brain will engage more actively, which supports deeper learning. If you haven’t yet identified your learning type, take a simple self-assessment or reflect on your study habits. Do you remember information better when you hear it, see it, or do it? Once you know, tailor your study methods accordingly. Visual learners might benefit more from charts and videos, kinesthetic learners from hands-on activities, and auditory learners from listening and speaking. In short, learning based on your brain type isn’t just a trend—it’s a proven strategy to make studying more efficient and enjoyable. So next time you dive into a subject, try shifting the mode of learning to match how your brain works best. You might be surprised how much more productive and fun studying can be.
