Starting with lighter weights and gradually increasing resistance allowed me to build confidence and avoid plateaus. Don't underestimate the warm-up and cool-down phases; a 3-5 minute warm-up on equipment like the stairmaster gets your blood flowing and prepares your muscles, while a cool-down walk on the treadmill aids recovery. Incorporating compound exercises such as leg presses and Bulgarian split squats effectively targets the lower body and glutes, supporting functional strength for daily activities. Rest periods of 60 to 90 seconds between sets were essential for me to maintain energy and focus throughout the workout. Listening to your body and adjusting rest times as needed can prevent burnout.
