oreo truffles are a holiday staple! 🤭🎄

✨ OREO COOKIE BUTTER TRUFFLES: My Holiday Test Batch! ✨🎄

I’m hosting Christmas this year, and I wanted to play around with a couple new Oreo truffle flavors.

So I made a small test batch… and honestly these turned out dangerously good 😭❤️

Version 1: Oreo x Reese’s Remix

The base is crushed Oreos + cream cheese mixed with crushed Reese’s cups.

Rolled in Oreo crumbs

Finished with a cookie butter drizzle + crushed Reese’s Puffs on top.

Peanut butter chocolate perfection.

Version 2: Classic Cookie Butter Oreo

Just the Oreo + cream cheese base

Rolled in Oreo crumbs

Topped with a thick cookie butter drizzle + a little more Oreo crumble.

Simple but insanely delicious.

✨ HERES THE RECIPE!! ✨

Ingredients:

• 1 package Oreo cookies

• 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

• Cookie butter (melted for drizzling)

• Reese’s cups, crushed (for the Reese’s version)

• Reese’s Puffs cereal, crushed (for topping)

Instructions:

1. Crush your Oreos into fine crumbs (save a little for rolling).

2. Mix crumbs + softened cream cheese until smooth and doughy.

3. Split the dough:

• For the Reese’s version, mix in crushed Reese’s cups.

• Leave the other half plain for the classic version.

4. Roll into balls and freeze for 10–15 minutes to firm up.

5. Roll each ball in the leftover Oreo crumbs.

6. Drizzle melted cookie butter over each truffle.

7. Top:

• Reese’s version → crushed Reese’s Puffs

• Classic version → extra Oreo crumbs

8. Chill to set for 10 minutes.

... Read moreOkay, so after my holiday test batch of these Reese's Puffs and cookie butter Oreo truffles, I've got some extra insights to share that I just had to write down! If you’re like me, constantly looking for that perfect blend of sweet, salty, and chocolatey goodness, these are a total game-changer. First off, let's talk about the magic of using dark chocolate Oreos for the base. While the original recipe calls for regular Oreos, I found that opting for the dark chocolate variety really elevates these truffles. The slight bitterness from the dark chocolate perfectly cuts through the sweetness of the cream cheese and the rich cookie butter, creating a more sophisticated flavor profile. It's not just about adding chocolate; it's about adding depth. When you combine that with the creamy peanut butter of the crushed Reese's cups and the delightful crunch of Reese's Puffs cereal on top, you get an incredible symphony of textures and tastes. Seriously, the dark chocolate Reese's Puffs combination in these truffles is a match made in dessert heaven! Want to make your truffles extra special? Don't be afraid to experiment with your coatings! While the cookie butter drizzle is divine, a thin layer of melted dark chocolate for dipping before rolling in the Reese's Puffs can add another layer of indulgence. Just make sure your truffles are well chilled before dipping, or things can get messy! I even tried crushing some extra dark chocolate chips into the truffle mix itself for an even more intense chocolate flavor, and it was a huge hit. A little pro-tip I learned along the way: the consistency of your cream cheese is key. Make sure it's truly softened, not melted. If it's too warm, your truffle mixture might be too sticky to roll. If that happens, pop the mixture in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before attempting to roll. Also, when rolling your truffles, try to make them as uniform in size as possible. It makes them look so much prettier on a holiday platter! And for those of you thinking about gifting these for the holidays, they are absolutely perfect! I packaged some in cute little cellophane bags tied with festive ribbons, and they were such a thoughtful, homemade present. They also look stunning arranged on a tiered serving tray with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or edible glitter for that extra festive sparkle. You could even make a batch of the classic cookie butter Oreo truffles alongside the dark chocolate Reese's Puffs version for a beautiful assortment. Remember, practice makes perfect, and the best part about making these is getting to taste-test along the way. Whether you're hosting a big gathering or just want a delicious treat for yourself, these dark chocolate Reese's Puffs Oreo truffles are sure to impress. Happy baking (or rather, no-baking)!
