Book review, Ant Kingdom
The first was poorly understood. The second was better than expected.
Empire of the Ants | Ant Kingdom
7 Points or ★ ★ ★ ☆
Includes two short stories from the father of sci-fi fiction, "H.G.Wells," the author of famous sci-fi fiction like "The War of the Worlds," or in Thai, "The War of the Universe struck the Earth," which was published before these two short stories. These two stories were first published after c.1900, giving a clear glimpse of the influence of something reflected through the writing.
The first story, "The Ant Kingdom."
The story of "Captain Jerillo," he was told to defeat an army of ants that invaded a place that forced the people who were there to evacuate, but when he arrived, he found that the ants were much larger than he thought, and there was something about them that no one understood what they were.
The plot / storyline is about fun, the story is interesting, but it's confusing to read, probably because it thinks it's sci-fi, but it's more dystopian, so it doesn't make sense, and it's quite offensive, but it doesn't stick to much, it keeps reading, and it's also short, and at the end of reading it, it's inspired by Charles Davin's theory of evolution, which at the time of reading had no idea.
The second story, "Iron Armor Land."
The story of a war correspondent who went on to make news of the First War, he encountered something he had never seen before. It was a large black rectangular box made of steel. Ordinary weapons like guns couldn't do anything about it.
The plot / story is good. It's fun. It's like watching a war movie. There's no boring point. I read it very much. I read it and I knew it was influenced by the war at that time. I thought it was sci-fi. I didn't feel that way. But when I finished reading it, I knew it was written out before there was a tank. Oh, sci-fi, the future world at that time, but not now. Both stories were also influenced by colonial hunting in those days.
Overall, it's fun, fun, fun, fun, a little addictive, but it doesn't diminish interest. Read and wonder about a lot of things because it's quite old. It makes you have to find out more. But I also like to find out about it, because instead of just being entertained, I also got the knowledge of finding the doubts of the times.
