Down 2 lbs. this week.. here’s how!

2024/9/23 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen how I managed to drop a couple of pounds this week, and honestly, it all boils down to a few key habits that have become my non-negotiables. If you're looking to really kickstart your own #weightlossglowup or even push for that 3 lbs a week goal (with consistency!), here’s a deeper dive into what has truly made a difference for me. First up, let’s talk about protein. It’s not just about eating some protein; it’s about making it a priority at every single meal. Beyond the eggs and steak I mentioned, I love incorporating lean chicken, fish like salmon for healthy fats, and even plant-based options like lentils or chickpeas into my daily routine. A simple protein shake (like those quick protein bars) can be a lifesaver when you're on the go. Protein keeps you feeling full longer, which is a game-changer when you're trying to manage your calorie intake. Think about starting your day with scrambled eggs or a Greek yogurt bowl – it sets you up for success. Then there’s weight training. People often think cardio is the only way to lose weight, but strength training 5-6 days a week has been absolutely transformative for my body composition and metabolism. I focus on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and rows, which work multiple muscle groups at once. Don’t be afraid to lift heavy! Building muscle helps your body burn more calories even when you’re at rest. If 5-6 days sounds daunting, start with 3 days and gradually increase. Consistency is key here, not perfection. And for those wondering how to get those steps in – it’s easier than you think! My goal of at least 10,000 steps daily might seem high, but I break it down. I take short walks during my lunch break, park further away at the grocery store, and always opt for the stairs. Even pacing around while on the phone adds up! On days I can't hit 10k, I don't beat myself up; I just aim to be more active the next day. It’s all about increasing your NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) without even realizing you're "working out." Finally, let's talk about gut health, especially for days when you might feel a bit sluggish or after a sweet treat like chocolate rice cakes. That green matcha drink I mentioned? It's not just a trend; it's genuinely helped reset my stomach, especially after indulging a bit. Matcha is packed with antioxidants and can support a healthy gut microbiome. I also try to incorporate fermented foods like kimchi or sauerkraut, and plenty of fiber-rich veggies. A healthy gut definitely contributes to overall well-being and can surprisingly impact your weight loss journey. For a quick DIY option, sometimes I'll whip up an egg-based breakfast with some fresh herbs for a 'brisk' start that feels 'green' and 'healing' for my body. Remember, losing weight, whether it's 2 lbs or aiming for 3 lbs a week, is a marathon, not a sprint. It's about finding sustainable habits that you can stick with long-term. Listen to your body, celebrate small victories, and keep showing up for yourself!

this is random but how tall are you? just curious bc i’m on the shorter side (5’1) and find weight loss to be a slowww process when i try. unless i’m consistently just not eating which ofc isn’t how i wanna lose weight and keep it off…
