Homemade Bagels in Mom Life Chaos? Yes, You Can.

I made homemade bagels… because apparently I’ve become that mom who’s kneading dough in between snack requests and diaper changes.

But honestly? These were way easier than I thought—and they turned out so soft, chewy, and golden I felt like a whole bakery.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

• Mix 1 cup warm water, 1 tbsp yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar—let it bubble.

• Add 2½ cups flour + 1 tsp salt. Knead until smooth.

• Divide into 6 balls, rest 15 mins.

• Shape into bagels, rest another 15.

• Boil 2 mins each side, then egg wash + toppings.

• Bake at 350°F for 25–30 mins. Done!

I topped mine with everything bagel seasoning & cheese, and the kids ate them faster than I could hide one for myself.
