Is this normal or is it just me?
I’ve only good things about inositol for PCOS and everyone kept telling me to take it in the morning so I gave it a try for a few days.
It didn’t make me feel bad I just noticed I started feeling more tired & relaxed which for me is a trigger for dissociating. I don’t want to feel tired in the morning because I have stuff I need to do so I start fixating on the feeling.
inositol is good for our nervous system and is supposed to have a calming effect! I think for me though it’s better for me to take at night when I’m winding down for bed and wanting to feel tired.
This is just my experience and wanted to share as a reminder that supplements work differently for everyone! We’re all unique so sometimes doses or timing for supplements might look different for each individual.
Hope this helps!!

Inositol is often recommended for women with PCOS due to its benefits in improving insulin sensitivity and supporting hormonal balance, which can promote healthier ovulation cycles. This supplement is also known to support the nervous system and induce a calming effect. However, individual responses can vary greatly, as you've experienced. Many users report feeling more relaxed or even tired when taking inositol, especially if taken in the morning. The calming properties that make it beneficial for reducing stress and anxiety might contribute to feelings of fatigue or dissociation, particularly in those sensitive to such effects. This can be challenging when you need to be alert and productive during the day. The suggestion to split your daily dose, taking one portion in the morning and another before bed, aims to balance daytime energy and nighttime relaxation. However, for some people, like yourself, it might be more effective to take the full dose in the evening to harness inositol's calming benefits while avoiding daytime tiredness. This approach can aid in winding down before sleep and help prevent daytime fixation over feelings of fatigue. It's important to remember that supplements like inositol are not one-size-fits-all. Factors such as individual metabolism, sensitivity to supplements, and lifestyle habits all influence how you respond. Monitoring how you feel and adjusting timing or dosage accordingly is key. If you continue to experience unwanted side effects, consulting a healthcare professional knowledgeable about PCOS and supplementation can provide personalized guidance. Your experience highlights the importance of listening to your body and tailoring supplement routines to support your unique needs rather than strictly following generalized recommendations. Sharing experiences like yours helps others realize that supplement effects vary and encourages a thoughtful approach to managing PCOS wellness through diet, lifestyle, and supplementation.
