My ADHD Brain Likes This Hack
As someone who struggles with ADHD, clutter, and daily habits and routines - I found this hack to be SUPER helpful and have been using it for YEARS.
It hasn’t let me down yet!
I use the days of the week to help me declutter and clean my home as follows :
MONDAY (MOON-DAY) - Mop (declutter floor space for 15 minutes)
TUESDAY (TYR’S DAY) - Toilet (declutter bathroom for 15-20 minutes, expired or half used body care is a great place to start!)
WEDNESDAY (WODEN’S DAY) - Wipe Down all surfaces and dust (declutter any DOOM piles on those flat surfaces for 15-20 minutes)
THURSDAY (THOR’S DAY) - Thirsty Thursday, water plants (declutter by donating clothes and items to the THRIFT shop)
FRIDAY (FREYA DAY) - Freshen up with nice smells, simmer pot, diffuser, sage, smoke cleansing! (Declutter by removing anything even if it’s one item - that doesn’t make you feel “fresh and alive”)
SATURDAY (SATURN DAY) - Siterday; sit and do laundry (declutter the laundry room for 10-15 minutes while loading the laundry)
SUNDAY (SUN’S DAY) - Sometimes I vacuum like the video states, but usually I do that on Mop Mondays cause that just makes more sense. So if I’m not cleaning Sunday is to rest and relax and go out into the sun! 🌞 A clear mind and a clear heart will help you face life’s challenges, especially the clutter.
So this is my routine and the way I multitask while not getting overwhelmed 🩷🧚✨
A little every day goes a long way.

Dealing with clutter can be a daily struggle for those with ADHD. This effective hack utilizes the days of the week as a structured guide to simplify your cleaning routine. On Monday, start with mopping and decluttering the floors for just 15 minutes to set a productive tone for the week. Tuesday is dedicated to the bathroom, where you can declutter by checking for expired or half-used body care products. Midweek on Wednesday, focus on wiping down surfaces and tackling those notoriously messy ‘DOOM’ piles for about 15-20 minutes. As the week transitions, Thursday is a reminder to care for your plants while also decluttering your wardrobe by donating clothes. By Friday, embrace sensory refreshment with pleasant aromas, ensuring that even one item that doesn’t bring you joy is removed. Saturday serves as a laundry day—take the opportunity to declutter the laundry room while you load your washing machine. Finally, use Sunday to rest and recharge, maintaining clarity of mind for the week ahead. Such a manageable approach reinforces that a little effort daily significantly contributes to long-term organization, empowering those with ADHD to tackle clutter with confidence and ease.
